Office Vastu Guide

A Vastu-aligned office gives business a front door, a strong owner's seat, and a calm path for money to travel.

An office is not just a room full of desks — in Vastu Shastra it is a business mandala, where the flow of clients, cash, and decision-making should move in clear lines. The three pillars of office Vastu are: the entrance (where opportunity enters), the owner's seat (where authority anchors), and the desk directions of everyone else. Get these three right and the office carries itself.

Office Entrance Direction

Entrance FacingSuitabilityFor Which Business
NorthBest for wealthFinance, sales, trading, consulting — money flows into a north-facing office.
EastBest for growthNew ventures, creative teams, startups — sunrise energy for expansion.
NortheastExcellentSpiritual, wellness, or leadership firms — divine calm for productive teams.
WestGoodService businesses, medicine, hospitality — steady and dependable.
NorthwestFairLogistics, travel, trading houses — good with mobility but can be restless.
SoutheastAverageManufacturing and engineering offices — fire energy when managed well.
South / SouthwestAvoid for entryHeavy south entrance works for some industrial sites but is best avoided for a main office door.

Check your door facing with the Plot Direction Finder before choosing anything else.

Desk Position and Owner's Cabin

  • Owner / manager's cabin: Southwest (SW) of the office — the heaviest and most stable zone, giving authority and long-term control. Never in the Northeast.
  • Owner's desk corners: position the desk so the owner faces North or East while working — commanding the room, never with the back to the door.
  • Back wall support: place the owner's chair against a solid wall on the south or west side, with at least 2–3 ft (0.6–0.9 m) clear space behind.
  • Employees face N/E too, with their desks arranged so no one sits with a direct back to the door.
  • Reception: place near the entrance on the northeast side, facing the visitor flow.
  • Cash / accounts role: keep the cash workstation or safe on a North or East emphasis point, facing north — see Shop Vastu for the cash counter rules.

More Office Rules

  • Meeting room: west or northwest works well; keep the room bright with a south-facing screen wall.
  • Computers facing the door: terminals that face the door feel exposed; angle them 30–45° instead.
  • Plants and water: a money plant in the NE and a small indoor fountain in the North of the reception attract steady revenue vibes (traditional belief).
  • Avoid a toilet near the owner's cabin or facing the office entrance.
  • Lighting: north windows during the day; warm balanced light after dark. Dim, heavy corners hurt decision energy.
  • Clutter-free desks: clear the tabletop of old papers each evening — Vastu sees stale paper as stale progress.

Practical Office Remedies

  • Cabin already in the NE? Rotate the desk to face N/E and add a mirror to push weight visually to the SW wall.
  • Entrance in the south? Widen the doorway, keep it bright, and hang a Toran — effort plus light balances a south entry.
  • Use the 16 Zones Map of your office floor to relocate stations without structural work.
  • Place a brass tortoise facing the entrance in the North (Kuber) corner for a traditional wealth activator.
